We arose late, loafed our way through breakfast, talked with the neighbor while getting ready to move, and finally got on the road around 10:15. Of course, we were only going 90 miles, so it wasn't a full day's work.

We pulled in and unhooked just after noon. This place has the best view of any RV park we've yet stayed in. We look to the east across Georgia Sound, perhaps 20 miles of water, and at the snow-capped mountains beyond.  The weather today was beautiful, cool, dry, lovely.

We sat outside and read our books for a bit, then went for a drive around the town.  Nothing excited us, so we did a little shopping at the Overwaitea grocery/drug store and returned to the trailer. We sat some more and then went across the street to "Kavlas" for dinner.

Dolores had another Dungeness crab with a shrimp cocktail of mini-shrimp.  I had the smoked salmon appetizer and pan-fried halibut. The wine was a BC Pinot Gris by Gehringer Brothers.  Everything was nice, service included.

We walked back here and through the campground.  I noticed a cruise ship northbound in the sound and a couple with field glasses watching it, so we started talking with them.  They live "over the hill" here on the island and travel quite a bit. They asked where we're staying tomorrow night and approved heartily when we told them - they say that we should be able to throw rocks at the cruise ships in the narrows there.

We talked quite a bit about the weather here and many other things, including their travels to the Carribean.  Very friendly people.

Then back to the trailer to do these notes, and then relax (some more).

(Later) I went over to the corner of the campground, where I'd noticed a fireplace and fire.  I took my credit card signature copies that I'd reconciled with the statement, in order to burn them.  A couple was watching the fire and sipping something, and we started talking. After a while, another couple came over and we all sat and talked our way through a couple of glasses. Both couples recommended the place we're staying for the next two nights.

Finally went to bed around midnight.
