Day 48
Start: Dixon’s CG, Neddicks, ME
End: Brattleboro North KOA, Brattleboro, VT
Miles: 132
The high today was 93f and the low was 63f last night. Hot, hazy, humid.
The trip across lower New Hampshire on route 101 & 9 was a real challenge. Traffic was heavy, the roads
aren’t great, and the weather was miserable. It wasn’t a long trip, but it sure seemed as though it was.
Once we got to the campground, we set up the trailer and went off to get groceries. We returned with them
and put them away. Then Dolores called her sister to set up a visit later this afternoon.
I received e-mail, including a note from my brother to look for family information in a local graveyard. We
went back to Brattleboro and worked on that for a while. We stopped looking when
we found out it is way out in the boondocks.
I also stopped at the local Dodge dealer to buy a
bulb for the left brake light that had burned out. They loaned me a Torx driver to replace it with. Now I’m
legal on that again.
We went to Walter & Mary’s place and bored them with photographs for a while. Dolores had bought little
things for their family in Canada, so we passed them out. Then we went to dinner at a little place on Lake
Sunapee. We chatted about family things and had a good time.
After dinner, we returned to the trailer and turned the air conditioning down a little to make it easier to
sleep.
We’re off for Pennsylvania in the morning.
