Day 6
Start: Brattleboro North KOA, Brattleboro VT
End:
Miles: 0
I woke up, still feeling ill, and went back to sleep. Dolores forced orange juice and Nyquil into me until I
finally started feeling reasonably well about 1:00pm. My voice is still a croak, but I feel well enough to
continue.
After I started feeling ok, we went back to Mary & Walter’s. Mary and Dolores played “Sorry” with Tim
for a bit (Walter was off on a courier run). Dolores did the laundry while this was going on, so we could
start afresh.
A retired priest friend of theirs came by and chatted for a while – he’s a retired Navy chaplain. Then
Marybeth came along and people started scurrying around to their next appointments.
We went to Marybeth & Bill’s house to see their miniature
horses. They’re
cute. The smallest weighs only
92 pounds. They have six at this time, but hope to get back to four soon. They’re involved in showing
them and beginning to breed them. Marybeth and Julieann were cleaning the horse barn when we got
there, and then gave us a short tour.
Mary brought in Dave and about the same time, Bill arrived home from his job in St Johnsbury. He stays
up there a couple of nights a week. We left so they could take Tim to T-Ball. Bill’s looking well. I wish
we’d had more time to spend with them, but they’re typically busy parents. Maybe we can stop on the way
back.
We went back to Mary & Walter’s for dinner. I have to get out of here before I gain ten pounds.
Finally, we said good night and went back to the little house in the campground. We’re off to Quebec in
the morning.
