In March & April of 2010, we took a short RV trip with the truck and trailer to Texas.

We stopped at Hammond, Louisiana, both going and coming back.

We stopped in Galveston for two nights, Goliad for one, New Braunfels for seven, and Onalaska for three.

From New Braunfels, we could swing down to San Antonio (30 miles), up to Austin (45 miles), or take a trip into the Hill Country west of Austin and northwest of San Antonio.

New Braunfels was going to be a night shorter, but truck problems led us to stay another night there.

Onalaska was intended to be a brief rest stop on the way home, but got stretched a day due to more truck problems.

We had a good time, despite the problems.

Have a look at our trip.
