We’re off again. Please come along as we visit the Netherlands, Belgium and London in the spring.
Use the buttons at left to see what we did that day.
The basic premise is to spend a day in Virginia with friends, then do an overnight flight to London connecting to the Eurostar train under the Channel to Brussels. We’ll spend three nights in Brussels; on Easter Sunday we’ll go to church in the cathedral and then catch the Thalys train to Amsterdam.
We’ll prowl around Amsterdam for three nights until we board the river cruise ship for our tour. After the tour, we’ll fly to London for a few days, then fly home.
Owen has a background in things Dutch, having been born and raised in Holland, Michigan. Holland was founded in 1847 by the Rev. Albertus van Raalte and his followers and remained heavily Dutch-influenced for many years. Now the city is more diverse, but likes its heritage. It has the only working authentic Dutch windmill in the United States and holds a “Tulip Time” festival every year in May..
