My cousin Fran and her husband Duane have offered us lodging in a great little condo in exchange for our cat-sitting while they go on a cruise. It’s too good a deal to turn down, especially since our daughter and her husband live in the same city. Further, we have other friends in the area and know the area well from prior travels.

Which city?
Seattle, Washington.

The condo is in a wonderful location, just below the Pike Place Market. Pier 63 and the waterfront are across the way, with all the tourist spots (and nice things) that people want on the waterfront. The view to the west is also terrific with the Olympic mountains across the sound, beyond the Kitsap County peninsula on which Bremerton, Bangor, and the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard are located
(Google Map).

If you opened the Map above, you can see there’s a lot of water here called Puget Sound. The Sound has inlets and bays off it, and there are lakes that drain into it. There are ferries to allow people convenient ways to get across the waters, and we’re well versed in that form of transport. We’ll use them again this trip.

Now, about the cats. Fran and Duane have two cats, Prince Charming and Honey Girl. Our daughter Susan and husband Bryant have three - Maggie, Bunny, and Nixie. Both D and I will likely have sinus problems from cat dander before this is over. But we’ll risk it.

Our good friends Glenn & Marylou will come up from San Diego for a few days in the middle of our stay. It'll be nice to see them again.

When Fran and Duane return, we’ll move into a guest suite at the condo for a few days. Then Fran’s sister Lynn arrives and moves into the guest suite while we move out to a hotel nearby. Then we’ll have a mini-reunion for a few days with all the fun of being together.

As the trip goes on, we’ll update this web site to keep family and friends posted on our doings. Keep up to date with us, but remember to update the page on your browser, because you might be looking at a “cached” version your browser retained from your prior visit.
