StCloud MN

20050808  St Cloud MN  69/100  Clear, HOT!!

Wow. It was warm and muggy when we started at 8:30am and it just got worse as the day went on. We got as far down US-2 as Grand Forks (90 miles) before we had to turn on the A/C. We went down I-29 to Fargo, refueled, and headed southeast on I-94. We finally got to St Cloud about 3:30pm.

At least the wind wasn't in our face. It got behind us in North Dakota and swung around to being out of the southwest in MN. We had to run more slowly when it got really hot.

We checked in and quickly set up the little house. It was 95 both inside and outside the trailer. We turned on the trailer A/C, grabbed the laptop and went to the office/rec room to do email and such in a cooler environment.

There wasn't much new in the email. There were a few jokes that were good, especially Bill's.

We went back to the little house and called son Bill. We chatted for a good bit, getting up to speed on what's happening with him and giving him our news.

Then we threw together salads and sandwiches so we wouldn't have to cook anything nor move around outside. It was good to do for a change.

Tomorrow, we're off into Wisconsin to see friends there and to rest for a few days and look around the country I spent my summers in as a teenager. But, I might not get much rest, as my brother is also there and he may want to drag me around with him. We'll see.

We're just taking it easy in the trailer until close to sunset, when it may get a little cooler. We'll get these notes ready to send and have a glass or two.
