The "Plan" is to fly from Jacksonville to Baltimore, meet D’s college roommate, eat at D’s favorite restaurant in Linthicum Heights, and stay the night. The next day we'll see friends in Virginia and drive to Dulles airport for the overnight trip to England.

We put the car into the long-term lot, checked in, and flew a pleasant 6206 to BWI. All seats full, but D & I have a method of taking aisle seats opposite each other, so it worked out.

We checked into the Hilton Garden Inn near BWI. After a bit, we drove down the street to our favorite restaurant, G&M Seafood and met D’s roommate. Lots of chatting and fun, plus good food. Then back to the inn, to loaf and watch the TV channels we watched for 26 years while we lived in Manassas.

Up and out, drove to Manassas in heavy traffic for a Sunday morning. I left D at church and toured downtown. Lots of new buildings, but much of the old remains. The Amtrak train The Crescent came through, so I took pictures of it, including the private railcar on the end.

We went to the Conley’s, where Val had fixed some great-tasting goodies. We chatted and caught up on kid’s doings.

Then we all went to the Baker’s and did the same thing over a great picnic Naomi and Val put out on their beautiful back deck.

Then it came time to go, so we drove to IAD (Dulles International), dropped the car, and checked in with British Air. We went out to Terminal B to wait.

After a bit our names were called and we were given new boarding passes since they had upgraded us to Business Class (yay). We hit the lounge for a drink, came back, and boarded.

Neither of us were hungry, so we had drinks and went to sleep in the nice flat-bed seats.
