We decided to make a run for home when the hurricane center showed that the remnants might come up thru Mississippi, turn eastward through Alabama, and get to us in Georgia.
We took the usual, I-75 to I-285W to I-85W to I-185S to US-431S to US-231S to home. We ran thru one hell of a rain band at Eufala AL, and a lot of gusty wind that blew us around on the road, but nothing too bad.
On arrival we found the Air Conditioning down (again). The emergency repair guy said they'd look for a spare compressor, but didn't hold out much hope since the distribution center is in Mobile, which is flooded.
So we plugged in the trailer to the house and slept in the trailer in our driveway.
End of trip. Over 19,000 miles. Wow.
We’re very happy you came along on the trip.
