Tuesday

Another nice cool morning greeted us. Glenn had set out coffee and pastries and juice. We joined him and ML joined us.

We started chatting again until it came time we had to leave for the airport. We said our thanks and goodbyes and left, ever so happy we'd come.

Traffic on I-8 was sticky as usual but we'd planned for it. We arrived at the Rental Car center when we thought we would. We caught the shuttle to the terminal but when we got to Terminal 1, we found out that this bus was intended to go only to Terminal 1 and we needed Terminal 2 West. Our driver got on the radio and received permission to go off-route and put us in Terminal 2 West. He was a happy guy and we weren't pressed for time so we enjoyed our special shuttle ride. I thanked him for his help and his smile as we got off; he laughed and wished us well.

D made for the tee-shirt shop to get grandson things. Then we eased out to our departure gate. We got out books and waited. The incoming aircraft was a little late so boarding was rushed. We boarded and got into our seats, then we got underway. Takeoff was nice - I could see our old apartment as we passed over Point Loma. Then the lunch service began. I had a nice antipasto and sipped wine till we got to Mississippi. We dropped down into Atlanta as the sun was setting. Two other planes were landing alongside us (Atlanta has five runways). It was neat watching them land as we landed.

Our one-hour turn-around time made us scurry from A-24 to A-2 to get the Jacksonville flight (a 757). The flight was unremarkable, which is good.

We grabbed our bags. Son Bill picked us up and delivered us to the condo. It felt very nice to walk in and relax.

That's it. We're done. Thanks for coming along.
