We're on our own this morning while Susan does chores and Bryant works. The day is a little dismal compared with the last two. Not raining yet.
I went out to get donuts and coffee and returned.
The view here is from 806d's second floor looking south. Susan's would be similar. The storage lot is likely to go away soon in order that more townhouses may be built, but it's hanging on for now. Note the green-faced Fremont Brewery building on the next street.
The Ballard Canal between Lake Union and the Sound is a few more blocks beyond the Fremont building - easy walking distance and interesting to see what boats are traversing the canal.
The Fred Meyer superstore is ahead and off to the right. It competes well with Walmart and is Susan's regular store. Sells nearly everything.
Around noon we went to Susan's & Bryant's home. We had coffee to ward off the chill. Then we decided we had to do something - anything - so we hopped in their car. Susan dashed off to the area by the U of Washington and then to a huge shopping place/mall. There we found the Apple Store.
D has been wanting a new little iPad device and a new iPhone so we looked at all the many options so she could get an idea of what she wants first. As she points out, she has a birthday coming up.
I looked at a cute little device but decided my current MacBook Pro will do for quite a while. My ancient iPhone 5s still runs the latest OS so I just keep using it, even though Susan scoffs at it.
Susan hiked us off to another store, the Amazon store. The store has real paper books but no prices are displayed. You have to take the book to a pricing station which then gives you the price according to your rank in Amazon. I get the idea but no thanks.
In charging off to another place we stumbled across an ice cream store Susan likes, so we had an ice cream interlude. Very nice. Then the rain started.
Then we went back to the car and headed west toward home. But Susan stopped and had us walk back with her to Meowtrapolitan, a Cat Lounge and coffee shop.
There is a big room with cats in it, and chairs. For $10 you get 50 minutes with the cats and a coffee. One person was in there with a cat in her lap while she did homework. Fuzzy therapy, I guess. There's a strict set of rules on cat treatment. Some cats are on staff but others are rehabilitated and up for adoption. For every need…..
Then we came back home and curled up. Finally we decided to let someone else brave the rain since it was rather heavy at the time. We ordered Italian food which arrived rather quickly. The food got home before Bryant did since his traffic was horrible. So we ate and had some wine we bought the other day on Whidbey Island. As we finished Bryant arrived. We chatted as he dished up some dinner but left soon after that to let him and Susan relax.
Then we commuted the three doors west to 806d and curled up. I'm finishing this and then will read - D's playing a game on her iPad.
