2018 Cruise

The older we get, the better we were.

Georgetown, Grand Cayman:
The country's capital is a crayon box of shops, restaurants, and history, including the Cayman Islands National Museum and the Maritime Treasure Museum.

We arrived and anchored offshore at 0800 alongside two Carnival liners.

There's no pier here, so the ship's tenders take people ashore. That can be a slow process, so people with scheduled tours are taken first. We have no tour scheduled. When the others have gone we'll go ashore and mooch around. Total aimless wandering, and let serendipity rule.

Since we visited here a few years ago and did everything the place has to offer, we stayed aboard. We did our mimosa-bloodymary thing, sat in the Crow's Nest with books, sat on our veranda with books, and relaxed the whole day.

Late in the afternoon we gathered with friends at happy hour and then did the Sip 'N Savor. That was followed by another Gala Night in the dining room where D did her surf-n-turf as we sat among old sailor friends again. We're enjoying the cruise more for seeing friends than to see new places.

After dinner, we said good-night and retired. This is the shortest page I've ever written.
