We blasted out of Anchorage up the Glenn Hwy to Glennallen and the Tok Cutoff to Tok. Three hundred twenty miles.

The Glenn Hwy has the bad spots we mentioned before. The Tok Cutoff part was miserable with lots of gravel spots where fixing is still required and an eight mile long construction zone that took forever to get through.

It seemed as though all the RVs in Alaska were leaving today. We saw very few headed the other way but lots going our way. As usual, one slow driver can hold up a whole line. We saw that happen a couple of times.

In general, the road was bad enough that most of us did about the same speed.

We set up in the ol' reliable Tok RV Village here - we stay here one night on the way in, and one night on the way out, every year we come up here.

After a beer and a few chores, we broke out the grill and did steaks. With baked potato, salad, and shiraz, they were quite good.

Now (7:00pm) we're settling in for the evening. We didn't unhook the trailer from the truck, so we'll make a quick getaway in the morning to our next destination - Haines Junction, Yukon.

We were here 21 days ago, so we spent three weeks in this part of Alaska; we'll have a couple days in Haines in the panhandle to add to that.
