Friday, 26 March 2010 Beautiful day. 310 miles.

Got the truck back from the shop after four days of disasters having to do with brakes and inability to find the correct parts. We spent the rest of the morning packing the trailer. Beautiful day, the first great day of spring.

Finally got on the road about 12:15 pm. Put air in three slightly low trailer tires, then up to I-10 via US-331.

West then on I-10 past Pensacola FL, through Mobile AL, past Pascagoula MS, then onto I-12 where I-10 turns off to New Orleans. We finally stopped at an ex-KOA campground in Hammond LA about 6:00 pm.

We've stayed here before, so we know there's a good fish restaurant (Catfish Charlie’s) in walking distance, which is good for a Friday in Lent. D had catfish & stuff (no fat), I had a good shrimp salad plate. Abita Amber for me, of course, since it's made up the road.

Now we're back in our little four-wheeled house hooked to the truck (pull-through space here) and taking it easy. I'll go to bed early and we'll move on in the morning.

Goal for tomorrow – Galveston TX.
