383 miles, another beautiful day.
We got out early in the cool morning. The route took us through Baton Rouge, Opelousas, Alexandria and Shreveport, Louisiana. It wasn't all that exciting a trip, since it was mostly interstate highway. I think it was Andy Rooney who said you could now travel coast-to-coast on the interstates and see nothing.
We did see a few swamps, lots of egrets and vultures, many road-kill armadillos, several stupid drivers and a whole gaggle of trucks.
The early part of the trip was complete level. Water level. A little south of Shreveport, the terrain gets a few bumps in it, like hills. Continuing into East Texas, the ground is gently rolling but still quite sandy.
After arrival, we helped the campground folks debug their Wifi network. It worked great when we first plugged in; we got our email at very high speed but then it dropped dead. No signal. I think a cable loosened somewhere (going to the antenna?).
Dolores took a walk with the camera and came back with some pictures of the flowers around the campground.
We had dinner in and did the dishes. I helped Dolores set up the fold-up table she bought for use at the couch. She says it works well. Lovely sunset over the grassy fields.
A little television, and to bed.
