At Viking Village RV Park, Stoughton WI.
I decided to do the overdue truck maintenance, so I went to the local Valvoline outfit. The oil change (my filter) went ok. The fuel filter, specifically the water-in-fuel sensor that attaches to the bottom of the filter to detect water, was a mess. The sensor was gummy inside and took a lot of effort to remove from the filter. The guys eventually filed new threads into the plastic sensor so that it would thread back onto the metal filter without leakage.
The transmission flush that followed went well, but I think the pump should have swapped out the fluid faster. I should check this the next time I do it - maybe the trans-coolant string has a restriction somewhere.
The rest of the work (wiper blades, etc.) went fine. I returned to the trailer, noting on the way that the overdrive function wasn't working and the fans wouldn't come on. Looking into these, the lack of overdrive function was caused by a wire being pulled off its connector, and the fan problem was a blown fuse.
My WD-40 work on the coolant temperature sensor (yesterday) seems to have fixed that problem - the guage is steady today. I went to the local Dodge (and everything else) dealer and ordered the WIF sensor for delivery tomorrow. I'll replace it when I can, or at home when we get there.
Now that all that was resolved, D & I went to the library to use the internet wifi connection there. After we'd done what we needed, we left and did some shopping. First, at the Norske Nook, we loaded up on scandinavian things for us and for gifts. Then Dolores went to a craft shop and bought some yarn for her work. We bought groceries at the Pic'N'save and put them away in the trailer.
We hadn't been out to a nice dinner in several weeks, so we went out to Halvorson's. Good food & service, a nice place, good view of the lake. If you're in the neighborhood, go here.
My cousin Cynthia called during dinner saying we should come to her new place for dinner tomorrow and gave directions. So we went back into Stoughton and picked up a couple bottles of wine for that, returned to the trailer and put them in the fridge to chill.
Then we decided to skip the trip segment to Michigan and the stop in Delavan. We've just had a great time with those we'd see there, and we're eager to get back home. We'll go to an RV Park in Illinois Friday, then head south for home. It will be hot, but we have the bigger house and the bigger air-conditioner there. All we have to do is to survive the trip.
