Seventy six miles to the KOA in Union, IL


Up late, intentionally, then breakfast and a leisurely drive to Union, IL. We set up in the KOA and took it easy all afternoon and evening, avoiding the heat and resting. 

We called our neighbor in PCB and found she's had health problems lately. We'll have to keep an eye on her when we get home.

At the KOA in Union, IL

We didn't sleep well, so we got up late. Then we hurried to the Illinois Railway Museum (largest of its kind) nearby. We rode out & back on the restored Chicago Transit Authority interurbans, then walked around looking at things. We spoke for a while with the person in the used book store (bought one). We rode the streetcar around the loop track & saw most of the site, which is large. Lots of things are outside, decaying, for lack of money to restore them.

We left there when it got warm & returned to the trailer, getting groceries enroute. We sat until church-time for D. I dropped her off at church, then filled up with diesel. I stopped in the bar at Marci's; it looked so good I went back to get D to take her to dinner. Very nice food. Kinda weird service, but ok. The small antipasto was great.

We returned to the trailer & did computers and read until bedtime.
