Wore a long-sleeve tee-shirt and jacket to take the truck to Bubba's at 8:00 am. Dropped it with the hope he'd finish it in the morning. He didn't.
About 1 pm, I walked up the hill (not far). Turns out the parts place had sent the wrong seals, and that Bubba had gone after the correct ones. Bubba came back, I talked with a WWII vet who was hanging around for a while, then I hiked back to the little house again. About 3 pm, I went up and paid $108 for the work done, and drove the truck back to the resort.
Reminder to self: the truck's rear tires are worn, time for new ones or to mount the spares.
Now that I have my exercise, we're going to go out to dine. Headed for the RV resort on the other end of the peninsula on which Onalaska is located. Supposed to be the better place in the area. But after a chat with our host, we decided to go instead to the City Grille in Livingston, some 10 miles east.
We had good, plain, bountiful dinners there, inexpensively. Down-home waitress who was ever so helpful.
Back to Onalaska, topped off with fuel, back to the little house, found three trailer tires a little low on air pressure so I pumped them up, then to take it easy.
We're set to go to Hammond, LA, in the morning.
