Today is Lynn's, tomorrow is Fran's for Duane's birthday.

We loafed the morning away doing computer chores like this one. Sometimes it's good to avoid the crowds and just relax. We relax well; others can't relax for one reason or another.

We went to Lynn's condo and found the community room. There were Fran & Lynn doing things for the "banquet" we were to participate in. We had nibbles and wine while making the rounds talking with others in the family Owen. The tables were nicely set with placemats; we were seated with Stacy & Bob.

Fred Wileman, school buddy with Cynthia, did a respectable job doing swing tunes on the piano.

The food was brought out. We dished ourselves before returning to table. Stacy and then Bob entertained us with some of their stories, and we contributed a few.

We all sang "Happy Birthday", and kept telling stories for a while. Finally people started drifting away. The rest of us helped clearing tables for the kitchen crew (below).

Then we had a nice drive back to the hotel to rest.

The crew below L-R is Lynn, Tammy, Fran, Cynthia, and Stacy.

Down for breakfast in the hotel, not too bad, very friendly people. We changed our reservation for tonight to the Hilton at O'Hare airport so we didn't have to fight Monday morning traffic.

Supposed to be at the Duck Inn by 2pm, so we left at 1pm and took a leisurely ride through Lake Geneva and Delavan. The navigation software in the car insisted on taking us down Waterworks Dr in Delavan, past the swimming pool and the town skate park, but it did find the Duck.

We were eight at table, Fran & Duane, Fred & Cynthia, Stacy & Bob, and us. We enjoyed some very good food, well served, in the large dining room. Chatted & hugged & said goodbyes.

Then we took US-14 and so forth to I-90 to O'Hare, an easy trip on Sunday evening. Now we're in room 9086 overlooking the runway complex and deciding what to do for a modest snack here.
