Actually, we're constructing this site ahead of time so we'll have less to do while doing it.
We'll depart well before the cruise begins (4/30/27) to allow time to tour Tokyo.
We intend to stay at the New Sanno Hotel, a US Military (Navy) facility for military and DoD guests. The hotel is a mix of American and Japanese styles. They provide (or will arrange) shuttles and tours.
To cruise the North Pacific beginning in Tokyo, you must get there. It's a long way (as were some prior trips).
We intend to use Delta (the old Northwest Orient route) for the 7,000 mile trip - 300 to Atlanta and 6,700 Atlanta to Tokyo's Haneda airport. Not as bad as our Seattle to Singapore flight but close. Same type aircraft - Airbus 350-900.
They say that every location in Tokyo appears as a new neighborhood. Our stay should be very illuminating.
