We elected to fly out of Pensacola to Boston so we could spend a few days with our daughter and companions. Our notes made at the time follow.

We were told just prior to starting this trip that the high water in Germany is preventing our boat (River Discovery) from getting down to Koln. But River Odyssey is going to Koln to take us on the first part of the trip upriver, then we will shift to River Discovery. 

We came to Boston on the 6th of December from PNS & ATL. Went to dinner at EVOO after we checked in at the Harding House B&B on Harvard St. in Cambridge, about eight blocks from Susan’s house. We saw the grand-cats.

On the 7th we played with cats & gave them their present from Seattle - the battery-powered ball with random movement. They didn’t know quite what to make of it. We met house-mate Bryant and all went out to dinner at an Italian restaurant.

The eighth was rent-a-car & drive to West Lebanon, NH. There we visited Dolores' sister Mary and husband Walter, with Susan and Wyatt. Mary did baked spaghetti and we ate before we returned the 120 miles to Somerville.

We didn't do much on the 9th - mainly laid around Susan’s place watching football (New England beat Pittsburgh) and doing cats. On the 10th, we turned in the rental car in Somerville, then Susan & Wyatt dropped us at Logan airport for the Lufthansa flight to Frankfurt am Main.

The flight was full to the walls. A few people arrived late to find their seats already issued to someone else, which caused no end of weeping. The flight was smooth and uneventful. We just read books.

We were out of BOS on schedule at 4:50pm EST and flapped across the Atlantic, arriving at FRA on schedule at 5:40am GMT+1, about 12:40am body time. It was a fine flight with excellent flight crew.
