Again, Owen first visited here in 1960 on the submarine Seadragon. Fifty-five years later, he’s here again.

The old WW2 Submarine Base is gone, and the UDT/Seal swimmers practice elsewhere now. We wonder if the rum is still cheap.

Warm & sunny. We berthed at the old submarine base, totally unrecognizable now - it’s a one-pier, two-ship, cruise terminal and marine support place. No military at all.

We took our two-hour tour to the top of the mountain (1,500’) on a 16-passenger open-air jitney under the command of Gomez. It really was a nice tour up the sides of hills past houses clinging to the cliffside. We made stops at two money-separators (tourists and their money) and picked up a few little things.

If you go looking for pictures on the previous web pages, you may not get them. I’m having tremendous trouble getting enough bandwidth on internet to upload them. I’m almost certainly going to have to wait under we’re home to upload any more. I’m happy that I was able to upload the text in the web pages.

We’re half the day done, so now I have to go do something so I can feel it’s been worthwhile.

I didn’t find it. We took it easy and read books. Then we attended the wine-and-appetizer tasting, a mushroom and mustards concoction with a Pinot Noir. Worthwhile attending.

We loafed a bit, dressed, and went to dinner. At a table for six, we sat with a couple who had houses in Maine and Mexico, just sold the Mexico house and are looking for a place outside Maine. Since November they’ve been in Maui, Venice, someplace else, Venice again, and this cruise.

The other couple just sold off their house in Pittsburgh to take full-time residence in one of their St Petersburg FL condos. We received a lot of Pittsburgh history from him (John) and her (Bunny). It was interesting.

We viewed the entertainment menu and could find nothing that really turned us on so we returned to the cabin and relaxed for the night. I went to the library for another book, and then we settled.
