Since our favorite restaurant, Blue Heaven, will not be open on Monday, we might drop into the Conch Republic Seafood restaurant where son Bill and wife Lana had their pre-wedding dinner and fun.

Up late. D was coughing a good part of the night due to a cold. We’re taking all precautions.
Breakfast, a lap around the deck, then watch the islands get closer. Took forever for the ship to get cleared so we could get off.
We walked to Peppers of Key West & mailed hot sauces to Bill & Lana. Then over to Duval and hiked the street. Looked for a wrist watch for D because there are no clocks anywhere on the ship and she’s going nuts taking out her iPhone. No luck outgoing.
Went to the Green Parrot (first seen by Owen in 1958) for a beer & wine. Then a slow stroll back up Duval. Found a wrist watch. D was tiring, so we came back aboard the ship to the cabin and rested until we got the notion to sit in deck chairs outside. So we sat outside with iPhones and did our email. But it was breezy so we went to the other side, looking north, and sat in the sun. The ship was doing a lifeboat/tender drill. They need the practice - it took them three tries to get under the hooks to be raised.
We left for an early dinner since we skipped lunch. In the main dining room we were seated with a nice couple from west of Atlanta. D’s birthday is today and it was also his birthday. The dining room crew provided chocolate cake and “happy birthday” in Malasian in celebration. Great dinner, good conversation.
After getting underway, we took another lap around the ship in the dark after dinner and then we settled to read and watch TV (yuk) until sleep.
After a time there was an announcement on the PA system that we didn’t quite catch, but D thought it had something to do with a sick passenger. Sure enough, the TV screen showing the ship’s track indicated we had turned back toward Key West. Now, at 2200, we see we’ve resumed our course after transferring the passenger to a Coast Guard shp for the trip ashore.
