The early departure from Sitka allowed us to get into Ketchikan at a good hour.

There, we hopped a Pro-Mech Air flight (10-passenger DH Otter turboprop) to tour the Misty Fjords park. Spectacular scenery. At the mid-point, the pilot went up a box canyon, then did a fast 180* turn and settled onto a lake. Several of us climbed out onto the port pontoon to breathe the air and listen to the silence.

I got to ride in the co-pilot seat returning. I asked the pilot if he got tired of this routine. He said he'd been doing it for 12 years and every trip was different.

On return, we did a short nature walk, then back on board. A little tired.
