We woke to a cool beautiful day. Glenn got up early as he always does and had the coffee ready. We resumed chatting about this and that.

We then got ready for lunch. Glenn packed a small bag with wines and glasses and away we went to Point Loma Seafood at the foot of Emerson Street on the harbor waterfront. There's a funny little setback area behind the building that belongs to the city so anyone can use it. Not many know this, so it's usually available.

We met Hal & Marge Smith there, long-time friends from the '70's. Their orange pumpkin (Karman Ghia VW) was easy to spot in the parking lot. They also brought wines and glasses.

We went into the building and ordered our lunches to takeaway, and took them to the table. We all talked and listened as we ate our lunches and drank our wines while looking out over the harbor. I spotted the old Sonar School buildings across the way. Finally we bid the Smiths adieu and went back out to Lakeside.

We chatted some more. Seems as though we always have things to discuss with them. We share political opinions and are old conservatives (as you get older you get more conservative).

I suggested going out to Lapaloma for dinner, but the Jacksons said they had pasties made up and that it would be easy to stay in and have them with a salad. So we did that. The pasties were great.

Jake came along with his Toyota pickup and started replacing parts in the headlights. Glenn & I got curious and went out to see what was happening. We found Jake having a problem with a clip that holds the halogen bulb assembly to the chassis. It was getting cool and I wasn't contributing so I came back in. Glenn & Jake moved the truck into the garage for better conditions. After a bit they came in, happy that Jake got it together. He washed up and headed out to see his girl friend.

Glenn brought out the Asbach brandy in celebration of the times we spent on the Danube. We sipped a couple and then realized we were fading.

So we went off to bed.
