Up in a leisurely fashion, breakfast in the hotel dining room (quite good).

We loafed and bathed and loafed until we just had to move. So we caught the shuttle - this time it delivered us directly to Terminal B. We checked in with a minimum of fuss. We went through security also with a minimum of hassle, all because we’re ahead of the crowd. This terminal serves the international flights and they all depart after 1700.

The SAS Business Class Lounge opened a little later. We joined the mini-stampede to get in. It’s a nice room with free wifi, booze, light buffet, lots of magazines and a TV tuned to European football (Portugal playing someone). Quite a few people are watching the game. Lots of seats, fairly good view of airport operations. Our SAS A330-300 to Stockholm is predicted to leave on time.

Later. The flight did depart on time. The plane steadily climbed to 37,000 feet and headed north by north-east.

We had our cocktail. Then we had our starter (marinated shrimp). The first course was scallops with ginger wasabi. D and I both chose the beef entree with roast potatoes. I had the pinot noir, she some Italian white grape I’d never heard of; something like Pinot Gris. D had port, I took cognac with our raspberry cheesecake. Very nice small dinner and excellent service.

Now (2007 EDT) we’re over Labrador heading out over the Atlantic to pass over the southern tip of Greenland. Clouds below, so we can’t see anything.

I’ve been on and below the waters we’re now over, first while heading for the North Pole in 1960. If we could see below us, we might see the icebergs.

Time to read and sleep. The flight is only eight hours and we’re nearly three hours into that.
