After a few chores, we set out for the north shore again. West on H1, then north on 99 for a change. Through Wahiawa and up to Haleiwa.
We found Haleiwa Joe's (Bill & Lana liked the place) for lunch. We had shrimp of different types and enjoyed them.
Onward to Waimea Valley, which is now a Native Hawaiian run gardens; last we were here it was run by various government agencies. A nice guide took us around the basic tour. Then we wandered off on our own with Dolores shooting pictures left and right. When we tired, we left. Down the windward side (getting breezy, wind warnings tonight), over Likelike to the condo.
Treated, scratched, and fed the cats. Changed into long clothes.
Then down to the club for dinner and fireworks. Dinner was very nice. We finished after the band started and about the same time the fireworks began. Sat and sipped for a bit, then returned to the condo by way of Safeway.
We've closed most of the windows to slow the wind blowing through the place, and taken other small precautions. Now we're settling in.
