A little different day today.

We grabbed all the things we purchased and drove to a UPS store. We shipped Susan's and Bryant's stuff to them and the rest to our house. We'll bring Lana & Bill's stuff to them sometime soon.

Then we went to the WYC for lunch. Nice again.

Off to the Zoo. It's an amazing place just off Waikiki Beach. It has all sorts of exhibits. The large animal exhibit is particularly nice since it has no visible fences separating the animals - it's done by low moats. Lots of monkey types. Elephants, hippos, rhinos, giraffes. We saw two of the three baby Sumatran Tigers, loafing under a tree but looking around now and then. Mommy tiger was pacing along one fence. Dolores shot 250+ pictures of animals and flowers. Our feet were giving out, so we skipped the aquarium trip we'd considered.

We hopped onto H1 and hopped right back off again due to traffic and detoured via local streets to the Hawaiian Royalty mausoleum on Nuuanu Ave up toward the Pali. It's a nice, quiet, location that must have been very peaceful before the Pali Hwy was constructed. Took pictures, of course.

Then off to the Liliuokalani Botantical Gardens off Kuakini Ln. This is a great little park just above H1 with Nuuanu Stream flowing through it. The first things we saw were two mongoose, which scurried into the undergrowth. Dolores was walking the path looking for flowers to shoot when another mongoose came out of the brush at her feet. Both of them jumped into the air and the mongoose disappeared. We took pictures of the waterfalls and rapids, but not many flowers were present.

Back to the condo to feed and graze the cats and to give them their evening treats. We did a leftovers dinner rather than go out again. Then we settled in and read books till bedtime.
