Dolores's birthday.

We got up with all sorts of intentions only to find that a million Hawaiians were out celebrating President's Day. Couldn't find any parking around the Aquarium or the Zoo, so we'll try again tomorrow.

We did stumble into Queen Kapiolani's park, full of hibiscus (state flower) for Dolores to shoot. We found Diamond Head Market and Grill, which Bill & Lana recommended, but couldn't get into it. We wandered Ala Moana Center, making a few small purchases. Then we took it easy at the condo for a bit.

Later, we went to Ward's Warehouse, put our name on the list at Kincaid's, and wandered the center's stores looking at things. Nice Executive Chef store. We bought a few things for the younger set and catnip mice for PC and Honey. Bill called D with congratulations; Susan had called earlier.

We returned to Kincaid's and had drinks at the bar; the bartender was very experienced and mentioned to Dolores that he only served a Stinger (her order) about once every eight years, so we promised to return before then. When seated we ordered a nice bottle of NZ Sauvignon Blanc and talked for a while. Then we ordered and ate very well. Some day, I'll get to order dessert here, but not today.

We returned to the condo and gave the mice to the cats. They looked, sniffed, and walked away. Hmmm....
