20120328 Austin TX Cloudy, more humid
We took another easy morning knowing it would be a longish evening. We bought stuff for the trip home that we'll begin tomorrow, and sort of prepared for the trip.
Around 4pm we arrived at S&B's house. We chatted until time for Susan to get Bryant. We left for The Domain, a high-end shopping center and restaurant sprawl north of Austin. There, we found parking and walked around for a bit until we went to Fleming's Steakhouse for dinner. We had invited my cousin Cynthia's daughter Stacy, who lives here in Austin, and her friend Bob, as well as Susan and Bryant.
Fleming’s has 100 wines by the glass and a limited menu, mainly beef and the accompaniments. The last one we dined in was in Salt Lake City back when.
Stacy & Bob showed up first so we got re-acquainted, then Susan and Bryant came in to make us six. We had wine and chatted. We ordered and chatted. We ate and chatted. We had dessert and chatted.
Bob & Bryant had a chat between them on the other side of the table that I didn't get, except it appeared they're both in the computers/software world. Other things discussed were moving to a new town, moving with cats, food, restaurants in Austin, the Alamo Draft House places, BBQ, the RV park we're in (seems Lance Armstrong has a trailer in here as well), other restaurants on Barton Springs Road, and several others.
We chatted some more until the waitstaff was looking at us.
Then we said our good-byes until later in the year and headed our own ways. It was a great evening.
